We had the honor of sponsoring this year's Back to School Bash at the Explore More Discovery Museum in downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia, on August 15th. Evelin Arellano, Carmen Diaz, and Bethanie Golladay joined Sarah Sutt, the Explore More Discovery Museum Development Officer, and her amazing team, to help make this back-to-school event the most vibrant and delicious one yet!

Sharing Virginia Virginia’s Finest Apples
Our team was proud to represent SVO and connect with the many families who attended. Approximately 330 people from the Harrisonburg area joined us. The event was a fantastic showcase of everything we love about apples!
We shared our gift boxes, which allows people to ship apples to loved ones across the country, and handed out early-season varieties like Ginger Golds and Galas. The kids had a blast picking their favorites and discovering whether they were part of the "Red Team" or "Green Team," proudly wearing stickers to match. They especially enjoyed learning how apples grow and hearing about the beautiful phases our trees go through to produce such a tasty treat.

Sharing Kid-Friendly Recipes
Beyond sharing fun apple facts, our team showed off some creative and delicious ways to enjoy apples, from chocolate and caramel dips to fluffy marshmallows. The apple slicer was a huge hit, transforming apples into “flowers” and sparking lots of smiles and giggles.
Celebrating Community
Overall, this event was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible coordination and passion of Sarah Sutt. Thank you again for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful celebration for our community. We loved helping make apples part of the Back to School season!
