Crunch Heard Round the Commonwealth – Shenandoah Valley Orchards

Crunch Heard Round the Commonwealth

On October 9th, our team had the pleasure of celebrating the annual Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth event at Central High School in Woodstock, Virginia. Agriculture teachers and FFA advisors Ms. Heishman and Mr. Ritenour were thrilled to get their students involved in this fun and meaningful event that supports local agriculture and community health.

The Biggest Crunch Yet

Ms. Heishman and Mr. Ritenour went above and beyond to help us coordinate everything needed to make this the biggest Crunch yet! With the help of their dedicated FFA members, the event was a huge success. These student leaders did a fantastic job getting everyone excited for the statewide simultaneous "crunch" and showed great initiative by visiting each classroom to deliver the following message:

"Today, we celebrate Virginia agriculture, our farmers, and the power of making healthy choices. So grab your apple, get ready, and on the count of three, let's all take a big bite together — one bite, one state, one big crunch! Thank you for being part of Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth."

A Meaningful Way to Support Local Farms

Students and staff alike let us know how much they enjoyed the activity and, of course, the apples! We’re proud to support local schools and help raise awareness about the importance of supporting local businesses and Virginia agriculture. Here's to more crunchy moments in the future!
