Stayman is a rich, sweet-tart apple with a crisp texture. Not overly juicy, but the flavor does stand out to make the Stayman a very popular apple. Progeny of the heirloom Winesap and a local favorite in the Valley. The Stayman season is mid-October through December. Good cellar keeper; should be refrigerated otherwise.

Best used for cooking and baking; retains its shape well.
